You will need the following:
- lemons sliced according to your class size, usually four lemons will be plenty.
- jellybeans
- napkins
This lesson is simple and lots of fun. Give each child a slice of lemon and a sweet jelly bean. Explain to the children that every time you say something that sounds like you are telling the truth they get to lick (not eat) their jelly bean. But every time you say something that sounds like a lie…they must lick the lemon. UGH ! The fun comes in watching their faces and hearing their squeals. Continue with this until you think the novelty has worn off or the jelly beans get eaten, or you get tired of chasing the jelly beans that drop and roll on the floor etc.:) You may then begin talking with them about how it feels to be lied to and how it feels to be caught in a lie. Again, you may ask the children to share their experiences. If time permits, let the children read aloud the different scriptures that pertain to the lesson. You may end it by sharing what God says in His Word about dishonesty.
Suggested Scripture:

- Proverbs 12:17

I hope this is a blessing to you.
