If you need to check your children on occasion for head lice, here is a simple, quick and effective solution.
Get a black light; you can purchase a handheld one at Wal-Mart for about $20.00. Then bring your children into a dimly lit room. Now all you have to do is pass the black light over their head as you move your hand (of course with rubber or plastic gloves) through their hair. Lice will appear to be blue; they are a living organism, while dandruff or anything else will appear as orange. Works every time and is fool proof. Give it a shot, you will never go wrong with this one, and it is not as invasive as taking a child into a room and searching through their hair or worse yet, taking them to camp or elsewhere and having to bring them home. Try it, you will like it.
