This activity is designed to teach your class the importance of reaching others for Jesus and is great for a Sunday after church activity.
Tie in as many “flying” things (airplanes, kites, balloons, etc.) as you can, even during your Bible lesson time, if possible. After church serve our class lunch and have a kite flying contest, complete with prizes for the highest flying, longest flying, and coolest looking kites. Then have a short devotion about salvation and the importance of reaching others for Christ. Let the children fill balloons with helium and tie a salvation tract on each. Ask each child to think of someone they know who is not saved and pair up with each other to pray for their person. After a few moments, have one leader say a prayer for the lost and the release of the “Salvation Balloons,” that they will reach someone who needs to be saved. Then go outside and release your balloons.
