Ideas for Visitation

Never go out to visit until you have talked to your Father about your efforts for Him...pray, pray and then pray for Him to use you and keep you safe. Secondly, make sure you have your bible. Never, ever, ever go on visitation representing your Father without His Word....as well, always be open to the opportunity to ask someone if they know Jesus as their Savior. I have learned to let the Holy Spirit prompt me with this and we need to always have our hearts ready for that opportunity. If you are not comfortable leading someone to Christ, make sure you have the scriptures marked in your Bible and then ask Jesus to help you, give you words and boldness for Him...He of course will respond...it may be helpful to have the first scripture memorized and then mark the subsequent scriptures in the column of your Bible to go to next...I have also learned that asking the person you are dealing with to read the scriptures to you rather than you reading the Word to them, actually has more impact in my opinion. Also, make sure you have a pen and paper to jot down any additional information about the children, their parents, their new address etc., new prospects God puts in your path etc. Next suggestion, make sure you have bubble gum, suckers, candy of some kind to give to the children He puts in your path. They love that. Also, it helps if you have some kind of I.D. Our Children’s Pastor, Bro. Steve has provided us with colorful photo I.D.s to wear around our neck...this day and age, an I.D. with your name and your church gives you validity with parents. Even if no one is home, leave something in the door showing that you have been to the home. It will still impact them that you have taken the time to stop by. Also, check your gas in your car, make sure someone knows where you are going and when you plan to be back. There are differing opinions about going alone and I agree it is best not to...but I am determined to be about my Father's business and if it means going alone, then off I go.

Hope the above helps...

Let's go fishing for our Lord Jesus!
